The revised National Automotive Policy

The policies and measures covering licensing, duties, incentives, technology and environment, safety and standards and approved permits (AP) under the National Automotive Policy (NAP) has been revised recently. It is say to ensure a healthier automobile industry. However, there was no indication if there would be any reduction in the price of cars.

Some of the revised point are, starting from June 2011, imports of used automotive parts and components will be prohibited. That mean no more half-cut turbo engine. Also another impact on car owners would be the mandatory road worthiness inspections for vehicles aged 15 years or older before road tax renewal and old vehicles may also be prohibited on the road in the future. Currently, there are about 2.7 million vehicles aged above 10 years on the road.

Anyway for those who have new car maybe will not have any effect on this revised policy. But for those who have lower income and cant afford a new cars. This will further burden low-income earners. Seriously, the government need to cut down the price of cars.

P/S: I need to make plan quickly if i want to convert my car engine to turbo
